Best home-made "parmesan" cheese!

I initially made this "parmesan" cheese for a plant-based lasagna I was making that turned out delicious, but that's another post! There is only main ingredient: raw cashews nuts + spices.


I modified a recipe from The Minimalist Baker to create it since I don't want to be using nutritional yeast.





Ingredients:

Raw Cashews, 1 Cup

Sea Salt, 1.5 Teaspoons

Oregano, 2 Teaspoons

Garlic Powder, 3 Teaspoons

Basil, 1.5 Teaspoons

Crushed Red Pepper, 1/2 Teaspoon I added all ingredients to the food processor and ran it until desired texture, then I poured it into a glass jar with a lid and popped it into the fridge! It will last for weeks in the fridge.


I sprinkle it on pasta dishes, baked potatoes, you name it and kiddos love it too.
